UEFA has fined the Russian Football Union 30,000 euros for the incidents at the Russia-Poland match, held at the Euro 2012 on June 12, UEFA said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, Russian football fans hurled flares on the pitch and displayed banners with inappropriate content. The Polish Football Association was also fined 4,000 euros for fans setting off fireworks during the match against Russia, the statement said.
The June 12 fighting broke out not only on the stands but also during a march of Russian football fans to the National Stadium ahead of the match.
About 200 Poles were detained, and 25 Russians had to seek medical aid.
