Die Kronen Zeitung, one of the central newspapers in Austria, has joined this information war. In its story about the war in Syria it used Photoshop following the example of the Qatari film studios, which created fake footage about the brutality of the Muammar Gaddafi regime. Those films were financed by Saudi Arabia.
Back then many Arab mass media outlets caught Qatar distorting the events in Libya. Recently, bloggers have caught Die Kroner Zeitung publishing a fake photo. The photo shows a family of refugees against the background of the ruined city of Aleppo, which is the economic capital of Syria. The man is holding a child in his arms and the woman is in a headscarf are walking the street gripped by the flames of war. The comment under the photo read: the tanks of the army of Assad are laying the road to Aleppo, the stronghold of the opposition. The misleading photo became obvious when the bloggers came across the photo in the data base of the European press photo agency. The photo captured the same Syrian family against a typical city landscape which was turned into ruins with the use of Photoshop.
The “Voice of Russia” also has proof that the West deliberately exacerbates the situation in Aleppo. Here is a statement made by Anfuan ash Shakhabi, a resident of Aleppo.
"The situation in Aleppo is not calm but it is quite bearable. But it is not like it is presented by the foreign mass media. Government troops are pushing the insurgents out of the city and in the coming days the city will be freed. By the way, many of the insurgents surrender. There are clashes between the troops and insurgents in some areas of Aleppo but as for the rest it is quiet. Moreover it is Ramadan now. In Homs and Damascus the situation is the same. The clashes between troops and insurgents take place only in small districts with narrow streets but these are the outskirts. In Tartusa and Latakia people have not even heard about the insurgents. They live their everyday life, go to work..."
There has been a tough information war around the insurgents. The West presents the insurgents as those who represent the interests of all Syrian people, who are fighting the regime of Bashar Assad. Meanwhile the “Voice of Russia” has evidence that there are many professional insurgents in Syria, who are recruiting common Syrian people into their ranks using funds from abroad. Here is an exclusive interview with Yusef Naami, an insurgent of the Free Syrian Army who fought in Hama and recently took the side of the authorities.
"They introduced us, young people, to a man who promised to pay us 2,000 liras each for going to the meetings against the government. We did not receive the money. 500 liras was the maximum and sometimes we received nothing at all. We did not like it so much because they did not keep their promise. After that they told us that we would receive really good money if we took arms and began to fight the military and police. We agreed. We were taken to the training camp where they taught us how to use weapons. After the training we began to take part in clashes with the army, we kidnapped people, who were the supporters of the regime, this is what we were told. We killed people too. They promised to pay us from 5,000 to 10,000 liras. But in reality we received ten times less and often noting at all."
By using deceived young people the US and some European countries and the countries of the Persian Gulf are trying to overthrow the regime of Bashar Assad. The scenarios of the handover of power have been drafted. US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said that Washington was advocating for keeping the government machine after Assad left. It is necessary for maintaining stability in the country. It is very important not to repeat the mistakes we made in Iraq, Panetta stressed. It looks like Pentagon has already decided everything for Assad and the Syrian people.
