"Tonight, on the planet Mars, the United States of America made history," Obama said in a statement.
The rover which is looking for life on the surface of Mars has already sent back its first images from the Red Planet. It is to continue a probe of the Red Planet’s
surface to see whether it was ever habitable.
The rover is equipped with the Russian designed Dynamic Albedo of Neutrons (DAN) neutron spectrometer which can search for water on rocks and minerals.
