According to the Institute’s head Per Bertilsson, in the future the human race would face the shortage of water resources and it is necessary to ensure more efficient water use and to revise approaches towards production, trade and consumption of food products.
Since 1991, the Stockholm International Water Institute annually hosts and organizes the World Water Week which is aimed at bringing together scientists, politicians and public organizations in their attempt to ensure more efficient water resources management.
