In the U.S., a visitor to a flea market paid a few dollars for a painting which turned out to have been painted by French impressionist Pierre-August Renoir.
A woman bought it along with a doll and a plastic cow a year and a half ago. All of the items were in the same box and cost the buyer seven dollars.
According to the shopper she liked the picture frame and has planned to throw away the painting.
Later it turned out that the items were no longer needed and she decided to have the painting assessed before she sold it.
It turned out that she had bought "Landscape of the River Seine," painted in about 1879.
The painting is now for sale with an asking price around a hundred thousand dollars.
