After leaving his Taganka theatre in 2011 following 50 years at the post of the company’s artistic director, Lyubimov returned to the Vakhtangov Theatre, where he worked as an actor in 1946-1964.
With the Vakhtangov troupe he staged Dostoyevsky`s Demons, which runs tonight to mark the director`s jubilee.
Lyubimov, full of energy and creative ideas, is now busy staging Borodin`s opera Prince Igor at the Bolshoi.
The premiere is scheduled for December.
