The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has sent humanitarian aid to New York City in the US for the victim of hurricane "Sandy."
As reported by the Ministry more than 50 tons of emergency supplies are scheduled to be air lifted for the people of New York.
On Monday, the Emergency Situations Ministry dispatched 2 huge Ilyushin-76 (IL-76) cargo aircraft filled with aid to New York, according to a Ministry spokesman.
The aircraft took off from the Ramenskoye airfield near Moscow and are currently en-route.
The aircraft are part of the Russia EMERCOM division of the Ministry which responds to international and national disasters.
