USA to place space observatory station in Australia

The USA will place a space observatory station in Australia.

A relevant agreement was signed on November 14th, on the results of the meeting between the US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta and Australia’s Defence Minister Stephen Smith in Perth in Australia.

This station will include a powerful radar working in the C- range and a telescope.

Experts say that a new system will enable the Pentagon not only to better observe the space fragments in the southern hemisphere but also to keep a vigilant watch on the missile launches in the Asia-Pacific Region
