What the western media are publishing on a regular basis is but information provided by the so-called Syrian Human Rights Monitoring Centre in London. That information is occasionally drastically at variance with what Damascus says, and distorts the actual picture of events.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has questioned the veracity of the Centre-provided information. There are but two people on the Centre staff, while the Centre head, Rami Abdul Rahman, has long since had nothing to do with Syria. He is the owner of a snack bar in the British capital city.
