Air strikes targeted the rebels’ anti-aircraft systems, hideouts and infrastructure. A fleet of F-16 bombers with Turkey’s Second Tactical Air Force based in southeastern Diyarbakir province raided Iraq’s Avashin, Zap, Haftanin and Metina regions, Dogan news agency reports.
The Turkish military hasn’t yet released an official statement on the results of this raid into Iraq’s northern reaches.
