A number of Russian media sources Thursday cited Mr. Bogdanov as allegedly saying he didn’t exclude the possibility of Syrian opposition winning the year-long war against the Assad regime.
The Syrian security forces are gradually losing control over the country’s territory, he was reported to say.
According to Mr. Lukashevich, Russian media cited “the irreconcilable Syrian opposition and its foreign sponsors predicting a quick victory over Damascus.”
Mikhail Bogdanov reiterated Russia’s commitment to the political path in the framework of the Geneva communiqué signed by the Syria Action Group in June 30, 2012.
