The opinion poll conducted by the Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) in 138 cities and towns across 46 regions showed that the Russian strongman's rating had gained eleven percent in the list of the nation’s crème de la crème, rising from last year’s 58% to 64% in 2012.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev came second, supported by 41% of responders, while Russia’s new Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu’s rating skyrocketed to 30% from 2% in 2011.
