The meeting was attended by the Council’s permanent members, including PM Dmitry Medvedev, chairs of Parliament chambers Valentina Matviyenko and Sergei Naryshkin, as well as head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Ivanov, Security Council’s secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Russia’s foreign chief Sergei Lavrov, new Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, homeland security chief Alexander Bortnikov, intelligence’s Mikhail Fradkov and Boris Gryzlov.
The consultation addressed current state of security in Russia and urgent international concerns. The Russian security high-flyers took the occasion to congratulate one another on the upcoming New Year.
