Police and special-purpose vehicles are patrolling the city streets, 10 Metro stations have been closed.
Protests have continued unabated since December 16th, when a 23-year old girl-student was gang-raped and beaten by six drunk men on a Delhi bus.
The girl underwent three surgeries but lamentably died earlier this Saturday. Her death caused stormy protests in many Indian cities, with participants urging that the rapists be executed.
The criminals are due to be tried on January 3rd.
