The budget slashing, or cutting the expenditure by 1.2 trillion dollars, evenly divided between the civilian population and the military, will automatically get under way in the United States as of early March 2013 if the US Administration and Congress fail to reach agreement on ways to reduce the current budget deficit.
All of the Pentagon’s civilian experts who will have to leave without pay or to be made redundant will be notified in advance.
