A tremor measuring 6 points on Richter scale hit off the north-western Sumatra coast early Tuesday. The epicenter lied 15km south-west from the city of Banda Aceh, the provincial capital and largest city in the province of Aceh, at the depth of 84 km.
The shock wave spread over the north-western island in the Indian Ocean, which is the six biggest island in the world.
