She took over as head of the Haja Dokuh district in the northern Jowzjan province. Afghanistan already has a woman governor and a woman minister, and there are many women among members of parliament.
“My key priority will be to make it easier for people to get access to education, health services and other spheres of life,” the channel quotes Sheikib as saying.
