More than 8.4 million citizens will be choosing between two frontrunners, ex-PM Milos Zeman and Deputy PM Karel Schwarzenberg. Experts are predicting an over 60% turnout.

The elections will be suspended at 10pm and continue on Saturday, from 8am to 2pm. The results of the polls will be announced late on the same day.

Milos Zeman and Karel Schwarzenberg enjoy equal support of the Czech people, which makes the result of the presidential race very unpredictable. Milos Zeman was leading the pack in the first round, with 24.2% against Karel Schwarzenberg’s 23.4%, leaving social pundits in doubt of who is more likely to emerge as a winner.
