This year, the NFL Super Bowl was broadcast by CBS to over 180 countries all over the world. A 30-second Super Bowl 2013 commercial spot went for $4 million.

The Baltimore Ravens emerged victorious, beating the San Francisco 49ers 34-31. This most important game of the year in the US took place in front of 70,000 fans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 2013 Super Bowl made history when a power outage occurred just after the start of the second half, when the Ravens were leading 28-6. San Francisco used this 34-minute break to catch their breath and even launched a counter-offensive. They managed to get into the score range and grasp a chance for victory before the final whistle sounded their narrow defeat.

Performing at the Super Bowl XLVII half-time was Beyonce, an American R&B diva who suffered a scandal at President Obama’s 2013 swearing-in over her “lip-sync” version of the United States' national anthem.

Beyonce vowed to sing live in New Orleans and kept her promise, finishing the song in a storm of applause.
