Academy Awards voting under way

The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is getting down to voting for the 2012 Academy Awards.

The Academy’s 5,856-member jury will vote in the traditional way or via the Internet to select Oscar winners in 24 categories.

Six films are competing for the Best Film Award – Michael Haneke’s Amour, Quentin Tarantino’s western Django Unchained, the biography film Lincoln by Steven Spielberg, Zero Dark Thirty by Kathryn Bigelow, and Life of Pi by Ang Lee.

Ben Affleck’s thriller Argo has collected the largest number of awards among the nominees.

The 85th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on February 24th .
