The 83-year-old BBC veteran has pleaded not guilty to the offences allegedly committed dozens of years ago.
Mr. Hall was part of the BBC staff until recently. He enjoyed the career of a popular TV presenter and a host of an early game show in the UK.
He stands the trial for allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman back in 1976 and sexually assaulting ten girls aged between 9 and 16 between 1967 and 1986.
In the recent past, another BBC star, Sir Jimmy Savile, was accused of sexual abuse with 450 victims testifying against him. But, with Savile being dead, those crimes will go unpunished.
Starting early 2012, many British celebs were accused of sex and child abuse, including comedian Jim Davidson, ex pop star Gary Glitter, DJ Dave Lee Travis, publicity guru Max Clifford, comedian Freddie Starr and the late radio presenter John Peel. They all have been arrested, with court dates pending in most cases.
Some of the victims said they had reported to the police and authorities the assaults years ago, but most were dismissed, which left British public doubting whether police and officials weren’t somehow involved in it.
