When receiving the Finnish leader at his Novo-Ogarevo residence near Moscow earlier today, Putin voiced concern about the two countries’ trade turnover decline by more than 12%, according to the Voice of Russia correspondent.

Putin said the Finnish President’s visit is quite timely, and pointed out the need for analyzing the situation to make moves to improve it.

President Niinistö said for his part that he would bend every effort to ensure that Russia would remain Finland’s No. 1 trade partner.

He invited Vladimir Putin to visit Finland this coming summer.
