Ukraine: one dead in plane crash landing

One passenger was killed in an emergency landing of an Antonov AN-24 airliner of Southern Airlines on an Odessa-Donetsk flight at Prokofyev international airport (Donetsk) on Wednesday.

"Tentative reports say there were 36 passengers aboard. The number of crewmembers is being finalized.

One passenger is reported dead. Information about two more in being checked," Interfax was told at the press service of the State Emergency Situations' Service on Wednesday evening.

A plane flying from Odessa made a crash landing in Donetsk, Ukraine, Interfax news agency said on Wednesday.

RIA news agency said people aboard the plane had managed to escape before it caught on fire.
