A powerful blast tore through the Quetta city marketplace on Sunday, killing 81 and injuring more than 160 others. The terrorist attack targeted the Shiites who make their home in the city.
The Sunni extremist group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack caused outrage among the Shiite population of Pakistan. Demonstrations of protest urging that Shiites be guaranteed security took place in several built-up areas of Pakistan.
