According to the company’s representatives, the “terrible accident” occurred through oversight on the part of night shift employees who poured ready-to-drink liquor instead of water and detergent into sewers.
The plant’s administration was alerted by sewer employees who reported a strong smell of alcohol in the sewers.
The losses inflicted by the mishap amounted to 500,000 pounds sterling.
