The Al-Qaeda spokesman and husband of Fatima bin Laden has been deported to the United States, the paper said.
Suleiman Abu Gheith was first arrested in early February during a joint operation of American and Turkish special forces in Ankara. Turkey refused to hand the “terrorist No 1” over to Americans citing possible revenge from Al-Qaeda.
Ankara finally decided to deport Abu Gheith to Kuwait. However, US agents arrested him again on the border.
The American ‘Shooter’, the man who killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and whose name is concealed from the public eye, has been left without any sort of government protection after he retired from the US SEALs. The Shooter has been found not eligible to receive retirement benefits and now he is living a struggling life, trying to earn enough money to pay his family’s healthcare bills.
The Shooter retired in September 2012, thirty-six months before the 20-year requirement for retirement benefits. But the US government machine did not make an exception for the man “who capped his career by terminating bin Laden”, a US magazine has written.
“[SEAL command] told me they could get me a job driving a beer truck in Milwaukee,” the Shooter said.
Such a job would be a substantial downgrade from both his status and estimated $54,000 salary as a Navy SEAL, the magazine explained.
To find a decent job is not so easy for the retired SEAL. His anonymous status does not allow him to disclose his previous work experience.
The retired soldier is paying $486 every month for a private health insurance plan, which provides him with a minimal coverage, excluding chiropractic care he requires.
The Shooter is just one of about 1.3 million veterans – about one in 10 – and 0.9 million family members who are currently uninsured, despite their years of service.
