The board meeting was timed for the 10th birth anniversary of the service. According to Ivanov, the quantity seized equals an amount of heroin that’s normally shipped from Afghanistan to Russia in a year.
The police also wiped out several drug laboratories. Ivanov said the operation is a result of a joint effort, with the details agreed with the Afghan Interior Ministry for quite a few months.
