High hopes pinned on Russian Paralympic team

The 10 th Winter Paralympic Games are due to start on March 12 th in Vancouver, involving handicapped sportsmen of different countries, who will compete in five sports. Russians will participate in three of them - cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and biathlon. Ice hockey and curling are still to be mastered by the Paralympic team of Russia.

Saturday will see athletes compete for six sets of medals at the Vancouver Games with Russia's women's biathlon team tipped to prevail in a 7,5-kilometer race slated for later this day. The Voice of Russia's Olga Syrova has more.
