An expedition of the Ural Federal University has discovered pieces of the meteorite near the Chebarkul lake in Chelyabinsk region that fell on Earth early on February 15. The extra-terrestrial fragments were brought to Yekaterinburg where they had their origin confirmed in a series of chemical tests. “We have just finished the research and confirm that the fragments found by our expedition near the Chebarkul lake are meteorite by nature,” Viktor Grohovsky of the Ural Federal University said.
