Russian shrines: Dormition Cathedral in Vladimir
Russian city Vladimir was founded by Vladimir Monomakh, a grandson of Yaroslav the Wise, in 1108. In 1158, his grandson, Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky, began the construction of the Dormition Cathedral on the hill over the Klyazma River, which later became a mother church for the north-eastern Russia
