At least three people suffocated to death on Sunday in a crush of people at a Cathedral in Cairo according to officials. The crowd had gathered to see the body of the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church Patriarch Shenouda III, who died last Saturday.
Bishop Bakhamious of Egypt`s Behira province has taken the role of acting patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church following the death of its leader Pope Shenouda III on Saturday. He was 88. The vote for a new, 118th patriarch, is due to take place within two months.
